If you remain in the backwaters of the river of life, there can be little progression 

God Bless you, my brothers and sisters.  There are those who go through much turmoil at this time and feel that they have lost their way.  I come to remind you that these are your lessons in life and are of great importance.  Accept them for the way that they are for if you learn well, there will be no need for you to keep going through them.  You will be able to move into the next classroom, where there will be more wonderful and greater opportunities for you to progress. 

Each one of you dwell in a particular point of life where perhaps the wind and waves seem too much, where you fear that you cannot survive the life that is around you.  It becomes all too much and you cannot see beyond the forest of trees that surround you.  I say to you, look further, for if you look long and hard enough, you will find a clearing.  This is part of your understanding of life.  We have taught you, sometimes it is necessary to dwell in dark places to remind you what life is about.  It would be so easy to take you to some quiet place where there was nothing for you save peace and tranquillity but that would be as nothing.  You would not progress. 

I want to take you on a journey and to use the depths of your imagination, remembering what life and progression is all about.  Sometimes it is best to start at the very beginning.  Imagine yourself as a new soul upon the earth, as a droplet of water and before you, on its side, is a perfectly smooth glass tube, shining and smooth, with no abrasiveness of any kind in its stem and we place you, as a young soul, into this fine glass tube which runs long enough for you to complete your river of life.  What would happen to you?  We would place you in one end of this beautiful glass tube, as one spot, one pure soul, who is here to learn lessons, to be purified, and away you would go, rolling along the tube, nothing to stop you, no obstacles in the way.  You would travel your tube of life and when you reach the other end, what would you find?  Surely, the same droplet that had been placed there in the first place.  You may as well of stayed where you were.   

You incarnated into the physical body that has become our home for a lifetime, however long or short.  You came to earth for a lifetime of service to yourself that you might find God, that you might find love, but you will not find it in a glass tube.  You will just return exactly as you were.  Souls that come to earth and live in conditions that give them nothing, with nothing shall they return.  If everything is placed before you, all things given to you, what lessons would you learn? 

See yourself as a new born child, a droplet from heaven, born into a physical body which is your canoe, which has been purpose built for your particular journey along the river of life.  You will travel at first along a small stream with many young souls in your infancy until you are ready to join, at some intersection, a wider stream, where you will meet many souls who may lure you onto one side and yet, each part of your life has a purpose.   There is a purpose in all things.  All the souls who you come into close contact with are there for a reason; you are necessary for each other.  For unless there are many of you there would not be a stream or even a river and, as you pass through this stream, everything is there for your progression. 

All the souls who incarnate with you are like droplets of water passing through coarse grains of sand, passing along the pebbles and boulders.  As you meet and as you broaden your horizons, your life will become rich and you will be overwhelmed with the quality and the quantity of these souls but each one began as a pure droplet of water.  However, in their haste, some create rapids and pass through life so quickly that they miss opportunities.  There are those who tread in the backwaters, in little eddies, where it’s warm and safe, only to stagnate, only to stay there to eventually be re-evaporated long before their life is complete because they did not wish to travel further.  They had their freewill and if this is what they wish, so shall it be.  It is all of your own freewill and choosing.  You choose which part of the river to travel, your life and your companions, and when you choose it is for you to use these privileges.  Do I hear you gasp with amazement?  “What privileges are there in travelling alongside people I don’t like?  They are not particularly nice so why am I not permitted to travel with the ones I like?” 

If you wish to travel with souls like yourself you must earn the right and you have chosen the ones the ones you travel with and the conditions that surround you for your lessons in life.  You even choose the sicknesses!  Everything that happens is of your freewill and choosing.  Perhaps these souls that so upset and disturb you are a mirror to you.  You may not dare to think about it, or even consider it.  They may be as you once were and it is necessary for you to travel with them to remember, even though you personally have advanced – but you do not like to be reminded! 

You see your brothers and sisters who you love so much in different environments, in different parts of the river, and you wish to join them and join them you shall, but when you are ready.  When you are prepared to cross the river and leave your ‘so-called’ safe surroundings.  Do you have faith and trust? 

If only you could remember that this physical shell that you live in, is borrowed and belongs to earth.  You may think that other souls have so much more than you but your spirit does not live in their body.  You see them as you wish to be but this is not a reality.  They too have their mountains to climb and their rivers to forge.  Try to understand that you are going through the conditions of life that you are ready for and when you have accepted all that is around you and overcome, you will be able to move onto where other souls, such as yourself, gather together. 

If all the souls in the river joined, what a wonderful life it would be.  The brotherhood and sisterhood of man.  But, as you flow, you must venture to the top and to the bottom of the river so that you may experience all aspects, that you may truly know the heights and the depths of life and to have the ability to go into the backwaters and to swim out again, which is what is happening to some of you now.  You swim into the backwaters where all things are peaceful and yet you do not enjoy your existence because you are spiritual beings and, for you, the love of God means so much more that you desperately want to get back into the main stream of life again.  

You know that if you remain in the backwaters, where you feel safe and secure, there can be little progression.  If that is where you wish to stay, with your freewill, there you will stay but I beg of you, go to the centre of the river.  Go and flow with those souls who will uplift you, where brightness sparkles and where you can join with the many souls of like mind; where you can bubble and sparkle and become a part of the gleaming river that thrills and activates, so that the sun can infiltrate and bring forth many diamonds.  Where one soul can give to the other, racing and rushing onwards, by-passing the whirlpools, coming over the great waterfalls together, for when you are together there is great strength. 

Not for you the sides of the river.  Not for you the bottom or the top but straight through the centre where you can draw the light and the love until you swim onwards with your brothers and sisters, each one equal to the other, each helping one another, sharing every part.  Eventually, there will be millions of clear crystal droplets of water merging together forming a crystal clear river where the water is so pure that it is fit for the angels to drink.

There, you will reach the great and wonderful peace of the Sea of Eternity to return once more to the Father, having lived a full and adventurous life.  With the ability to look back on your river of life, you will know that your race was well run, that you endeavoured to take everything in your stride and that you faced up to all situations to the best of your ability.  And, no matter what was placed before you, you gave of yourself fully and did your best.  You can be asked no more and would want no more, for when you reach the Sea of Eternity and you are answerable to yourself, you will know that your river has been fulfilled, that your love has been completed and that you, yourself, are now pure love.  You will know that this journey has not been wasted. 

Have compassion for your brothers and sisters who do not have your strength of purpose, who do not have the will to love or the courage to face up to every situation.  My dearest children, I can only say that I love you all so very much.  If I could, I would walk your pathway for you and would encompass you in your river of life to bring you safely through to the Sea of Eternity but I would not be helping you.  I would merely be loving you, for each soul must carry their own cross.  They must fulfil their own wheel of life.  Please, take hold of this life that is so dear to you.  Steer your canoe into the main stream of life.  Do not be afraid of loss for there is nothing to lose but everything to gain, for life is eternal.  Go forward and gain in love.
